How much does a place in a residence cost?

Please enquire about the price of a place in a residence (accommodation with meals) directly at the individual residence.

Financial support for block students (vocational students in block teaching)

If external accommodation is necessary, the stay in the residence during the block programme is financed by the school's funding body in accordance with the Bavarian School Financing Act. The block students only have to pay a small amount themselves.

The requirement for this is an approved application for residential accommodation. The application must be submitted directly to the relevant vocational school. The training location must be in Bavaria.

Accommodation away from home is deemed necessary if the vocational school student cannot reasonably be expected to return to her usual place of residence every day on consecutive teaching days. This applies if, when using public transport, the absence from the place of habitual residence is more than 12 hours or the time required to travel between the place of habitual residence and the vocational school and back is more than three hours.

Retrainees and trainees whose training centre is outside the Free State of Bavaria must bear the accommodation costs themselves.

Financial support for permanent residents (specialised students, trainees)

Specialised students and trainees may be able to apply for BAföG or Berufsausbildungsbeihilfe (BAB).
