Dr Marie Gabel manages the association as a full-time executive director. She represents the association in and out of court in accordance with Section 26 of the German Civil Code (BGB) and always does so alone. Her duties include, in particular, the management of day-to-day business, the planning and development of the association's work as well as personnel and financial responsibility.

The tasks of the IN VIA Council include, in particular, appointing, advising, supporting and supervising the Executive Director as well as passing resolutions on the budget and annual financial statements.
